Unordered List

An unordered list starts with the <ul> tag, and each item in the list starts with the <li> tag.

The list items will be marked with bullets (small black circles) by default:

Ordered List

An ordered list starts with the <ol> tag, and each item in the list starts with the <li> tag

Description List

HTML also supports description lists.

A description list is a list of terms, with a description of each term.

The <dl> tag defines the description list, the <dt> tag defines the term (name), and the <dd> tag describes each term:

  • Use the HTML <dl> element to define a description list
  • Use the HTML <dt> element to define the description term
  • Use the HTML <dd> element to describe the term in a description list
